Against his father's advice, young Robinson Crusoe goes to sea. After storms, a shipwreck and slavery, he is cast up alone on an island off South America, where he will live for twenty-eight years. With what he can save from the wreck he builds a home, grows grain, tames goats, and keeps a journal, until the day he finds the print of a man's bare foot in the sand. Daniel Defoe's 1719 novel is the original castaway story.
